Whitehall Domestic Violence Victims’ Advocate
The Domestic Violence Victims’ Advocate is responsible for assisting victims of domestic violence in Whitehall through court procedures and working with City prosecutors.

CHOICES
CHOICES takes pride in being the primary direct service provider to central Ohio families experiencing domestic violence. Since 1977, CHOICES has provided counseling, shelter, crisis intervention, education, and community and legal support and advocacy to central Ohio residents facing domestic violence.
Most people in our community associate CHOICES primarily with our temporary shelter, where they provide emergency shelter for women and their children. What you may not know is that CHOICES is one of the most comprehensive programs in the state offering a wide range of services for victims and survivors of domestic violence. CHOICES receives thousands of calls each year from people living in fear from the threat of domestic violence. To meet this incredible demand, CHOICES provides a crisis and information line that is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. For immediate assistance, call 614- 224-4663.
This resource is the only one of its kind in central Ohio and is available to anyone in need of domestic violence information or assistance. Hotline staff is trained to listen, ask questions, discuss alternatives, and when appropriate, refer callers to specific programs and services based on their individual needs.

Single-Family Home Rehabilitation Program
Repairs include furnace/heating systems, leaking or failing roofs, faulty plumbing and electric systems, windows, lead-based paint hazards, etc. For more information and to find out if you are eligible, contact MORPC at 614-233-4171.
Thinking about Buying a Home?
You may qualify for Down Payment Assistance up to 3% of purchase price plus out of pocket expenses. The maximum assistance is $3,000 dollars. For more information and to find out if you are eligible, contact MORPC at 614-233-4170.
Foreclosure Assistance

Heart of Ohio Family Health Center
The Whitehall Family Health Center, located at 882 S. Hamilton Avenue, directly across from Kroger at the Great Eastern Shopping Center, offers primary medical care, diagnostic laboratory, obstetrical and gynecological care, screening for behavioral health issue, dental referrals, case management, transportation, interpretation and other enabling services. Thier physicians are Board Certified and provide outstanding quality care.
Medicaid, Medicare, and all insurance plans are accepted. Sliding scale fee based on income for uninsured. The minimum charge is $20.00. (To qualify you need to provide proof of your income.) Payment can be made by cash, check, MasterCard, Visa or Discover.
Services are funded in part by the Bureau of Primary Health Care and Mount Carmel Health System

OhioHealth Neighborhood Care
Ohio Health Neighborhood Care, part of the Ohio Health system, has taken the term ‘reinvesting in our community’ to a whole new level for the Eastside Health Center located in Whitehall. The Eastside Health Center is located at 4850 E Main Street in Whitehall. Construction at the health center started August 2007 and was completed in the summer of 2008 to provide an upgraded way to deliver care for the community.
The Eastside Health Center provides services in:
- Rehabilitation with a focus on physical therapy, vestibular therapy, custom orthotics and
women’s health.
- Imaging services with capabilities to get an MRI, CT scan, x-ray or ultrasound
- Women’s Imaging for digital mammography, ultrasound, and bone density test
- Laboratory
- Outpatient Surgery Center
The campus also provides office space to Primary Care – Grant Family Practice, American Health Network, Podiatry, Medical Nutrition Therapy, Pain Management, Cardiology – Capital City Cardiology, Sleep Services – Central Ohio Sleep Diagnostics, Surgical Oncology Associates of Columbus and Orthopedics.
As a longstanding provider of high quality healthcare in Whitehall, and surrounding eastside communities, the revitalization has already had a positive impact in the community and was recently recognized by the Whitehall Area Chamber of Commerce for the 2008 Beautification Award.

Services for Senior Citizens
Whitehall Senior Citizens’ Center
The Whitehall Senior Citizens’ Center, located at 4924 Etna Road, is open to all Whitehall residents 55 years or older. The center provides seniors with the opportunity to make new friends. The cost is only $10 per year for Whitehall residents you may choose to participate in activities such as a billiards league, a shuffleboard league, an electronic bowling league, euchre clubs, horseshoes, ceramics, arts and crafts, tai chi, exercise club and a host of other activities.

Energy Assistance
Columbis Gas - Neighborhood Home Performance Solutions Program
For a limited time only, Columbia Gas has designated the city of Whitehall for an exciting pilot program. For only $20 dollars, any resident of a single family home that is a gas-heating customer of Columbia Gas can receive a Home Energy Audit (a $500 dollar value).
Along with the Home Energy Audit, residents can receive up to two programmable thermostats and high-performance, energy efficient showerheads for their homes for FREE.
The BEST part of this exciting pilot program is that Whitehall residents are pre-approved for FREE qualifying weatherization services from Columbia Gas.

Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission (MORPC)
Electric Partnership Program
This program looks at energy usage in the home, will install energy efficient items to reduce electric usage including refrigerators, freezers and compact fluorescent light bulbs. This program is administered by MORPC and is funded through the Ohio Dept of Development, Office of Community Services.
To be eligible you must rent or own a home in Franklin County and your total household income during the preceding 12 months must be equal to or less than 150 - 200 percent of the federal poverty guidelines. If a household is on the Percentage of Income Payment Plan (PIPP), they would automatically qualify. Income is based on the 12 months prior to application.
These services are FREE to income-eligible clients thanks to funding from the Ohio
Department of Development Office of Energy Efficiency’s Home Weatherization Assistance Program (HWAP), Electric Partnership Program and Columbia Gas of Ohio’s WarmChoiceTM Program.

Home Weatherization Assistance Program
The Home Weatherization Assistance Program is a no-cost energy assistance program designed to reduce energy costs for low-income families, particularly for the elderly, people with disabilities and people with children. The goal is to improve the energy efficiency of their homes while ensuring their health and safety. Services may include new appliances, insulation, sealing of heating ducts, water heaters, and a reduction of air leaks. This program is administered by Ground Level Solutions and funded through the Ohio Dept of Development, Office of Community Services.
