Welcome to the City of Whitehall Division of Fire.  The City of Whitehall is an eastern suburb of the City of Columbus with a residential population of 19,200 and encompasses a little over 5.2 square miles.  The Whitehall Division of Fire provides fire, rescue, and EMS services for both the City of Whitehall and automatic response districts with the City of Columbus and all of its suburbs.  The Division of Fire had approximately 6000 runs during the 2009 calendar year.  Of those runs, approximately 75% - 80% were emergency medical service runs.

The Whitehall Division of Fire is dispatched by the Metropolitan Eastside Communications Consortium.  It is a collaborative joint effort by six agencies to provide the service.  Because it is a joint venture, we have access to technology we never could have afforded alone.

The Whitehall Division of Fire provides a multitude of services for the citizens of Whitehall besides emergency fire, rescue and EMS services.   Because of our community roles and the realities of today's world, the Whitehall Division of Fire is involved regionally with Homeland Security and its planning.  The Division of Fire prides itself in being involved in the community through the many events in which we participate.  The Division's outreach program includes all levels of CPR certifications, first aid instruction, and fire safety education.  The Division, in conjunction with other city services, educates the city's kindergarten students every year with a Safety Town program.  This program includes "Stop, Drop and Roll", "E.D.I.T.H." (Exit Drills In The House), "Tools are not Toys", and "Firefighters are Your Friends".  Other educational opportunities the Division participates in are tours at the firehouse and the Grads Program at Whitehall Yearling High School.

Future plans for the Division include developing strategic goals for the next ten years and finding ways to meet those goals while not increasing the financial burden to the taxpayer.

Everyday our personnel try to serve our citizens as best as possible.  We strive to meet the community's needs and try to make a difference.  If you have a suggestion or comment for our Division, please contact me at (614) 237-0831.  Thank you for taking the time to visit our web site and have a safe day.
