A Message from the Mayor

Welcome to the 2022 Opportunity Guide

Welcome to the 2022 City of Whitehall Opportunity Guide! In many ways it feels like we’re finally getting back to “business as usual” as we (hopefully) exit the pandemic and reopen our community.

In other ways, so much has changed since 2020, including some of our major City services (e.g. garbage and recycling collection), parks programs and more. This is one of many reasons why I look forward to sharing the Opportunity Guide with the community each spring.

If you’re new to the Opportunity Guide, think of this as your go-to-resource for the up-to-date community information. In the Guide, you’ll find City service details, elected official contacts, park programs and upcoming event specifics. You’ll also find a complete Resource Directory for a wide range of non-profit and faith-based service providers in our community. From healthcare and wellness, to career development, to help for substance abuse and mental health — I encourage you find the resources you need to thrive in Whitehall. The directory starts on page 20.

Special to this edition of the Opportunity Guide, on pages 16 and 17 you’ll find information on Issue 10 - the Safer Whitehall Levy. Learn about Issue 10 and what it would fund (if approved by voters in the May 3 Primary Election) here in the Opportunity Guide or online at whitehall-oh.us/issue10.

As we gather again in person, I hope you’ll come out to join your fellow community members at an upcoming City event, whether that be one of our signature celebrations like the 4th of July Fireworks Viewing Party, Whitehall Food Truck & Fun Fest or National Night Out or one of our on-going programs like the weekly Market on the Green, Music in the Parks or one of the many activities now offered at the Whitehall Senior Center.

I look forward to seeing you out in the community in 2022 as we celebrate 75 Years of Opportunity

In service,
Kim Maggard, Mayor
